More “Hunger Games” Stills

I came across some stills of Jennifer in “The Hunger Games” from the look of them they should be scanned by a magazine of something. Although the quality is pretty bad they look nice, so I post them now with the hope to replace them with better ones in the near future:

‘X-Men: First Class’ Reunion Set for Director Matthew Vaughn, Cast

Looks like Jennifer will be really busy this year. So many amazing roles 🙂

The team behind the 2011 franchise origins pic, including stars Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, are locked in for another installment.

Concurrent with today’s announcement that Emma Watts renewed her contract as 20th Century Fox production president until 2015, it was revealed that Fox has closed deals for Matthew Vaughn and the cast of X-Men: First Class to return for the forthcoming sequel.

Vaughn joins previously-announced collaborators Bryan Singer (X-Men and X2), who is producing, and Simon Kinberg, who wrote Sherlock Holmes, but perhaps more importantly to fans of the franchise, the critically-reviled X-Men: The Last Stand.

An X-Men: First Class sequel would offer Vaughn his first successful franchise after stalled efforts to turn Stardust and Kick-Ass into film series. Meanwhile, in October the filmmaker discussed the possibility of taking on The Secret Service or Superior, two other projects which would reunite him with his Kick-Ass collaborator, Mark Millar.

X-Men: First Class successfully relaunched the marquee franchise, and was one of the best reviewed tentpoles of the year, as well as earning $353.6 million worldwide. The sequel should benefit from the attention Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence have attracted via upcoming projects such as Fassbender’s Prometheus and Lawrence’s starring role in the hotly anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games Beauty: Get Katniss’s Opening Ceremonies Look

Every time a new image is released from The Hunger Games, fans react like it’s a gift from their sponsor flying in by silver parachute. (If you don’t know what that means, you still have 55 days to read the book before the premier.)

But we have to admit, even we squealed a bit over this new picture, which shows Katniss before the chariot ride in the opening ceremonies. Her dress, which earns her the nickname “Girl on Fire,” is amazing—but what we’re really impressed with is the smoldering makeup. In the book, Katniss describes her face in this scene as “relatively clear of makeup, just a bit of highlighting here and there.” But from the looks of the photo, makeup artist Ve Neill either didn’t read the book (we’re guessing probably not so likely) or took some creative license (and we don’t mind!). Here’s how she got the look:

Eyes: Neill used M.A.C. Eyeshadow in Orange to create the flare in the outer corners before lining her eyes in black cream liner. She added Urban Decay False Lashes in Lure for extra intensity. “The more makeup you put on a beautiful woman, the more exotic and mature she looks,” said Neill. “We wanted to keep her looking really youthful.”

Cheeks: Neill drew attention to her “beautiful, heart-shaped face” by highlighting her cheekbones with M.A.C. Lustre Drops in Sunrush (a liquid gold highlighter).

Lips: Those lips (which spend the last half of the Games kissing Peeta) were amped up with L’Oréal Infallible Lipgloss in Fiery (a bronzey pink). “We wanted it to be clean, crisp beauty with touches of color,” Neill said.

What do you think of Katniss’s makeup? Do you love it, or do you wish Neill had stayed more true to the book? And most of all, would you wear it?

“House at the End of the Street” Moves to a Fall Release

You have not heard much about House at the End of the Street and for good reason.  It’s not going to make its spring release date.

The film, which stars X-Men: First Class and The Hunger Games’ Jennifer Lawrence, was anticipated to arrive in theaters on April 20.  Relativity, however, has decided a September 21 release is more appropriate.  An odd maneuver, considering Lawrence’s Hunger Games would be opening March 23 and one would think Relativity was hoping to cash in on the actress’ recognition in the film and its potential box office success.

House at the End of the Street also stars Elisabeth Shue and Max Thieriot; Mark Tonderai directed.

The film centers on a teen girl (Lawrence) who moves with her mom to a new town and learns that their home is next door to a house where a double murder took place. Complications ensue when the teen befriends the massacre’s sole surviving son (Thieriot).

Another New “Hunger Games” Still

Today Entertainment Weekly released a brand new still of Katniss and Peeta with their dressed for the Opening Ceremony of the “Hunger Games”:

Everyone who has read Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games has a specific mental image of what this world and its characters should look like, especially certain crucial scenes like the opening ceremonies of the Games. Well, bravo, Gary Ross and company. In this exclusive photo from the moments just before their introduction, Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) readies a final flaming flourish to Peeta and Katniss’s black costumes. “This is one of those moments where Cinna’s character syncs up with the creativity of our costume designer Judianna Makovsky,” says Ross. (Makovsky earned Oscar nominations for her work on Ross’ previous movies Pleasantville and Seabiscuit.) “What Cinna was trying to do was create something that came out of District 12, out of a coal mining world, with a fresh, bold look to it. So Judianna went to this wonderful black reflective material that glistened like coal or graphite and would obviously work well in the Tribute parade where Katniss becomes the Girl on Fire.”
